The St. Luke Community Connection Series Presents

An Very Special, Intimate Evening

of Ambient Improvisations with

MANNA + Sandy James +
Danielle Nia
in St. Luke Chapel

The St. Luke Community Connection Series continues on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 at 7:00pm with a very special concert featuring  MANNA, Sandy James, and Danielle Nia — three of the Philadelphia area’s most notable emerging Electronic Musicians. The concert will now take place in St. Luke's historic original chapel, which dates back to 1879, which will provide attendees with an intimate setting to take in this evening of music. Seating is very limited so we recommend securing your ticket now!

MANNA’s modular-made realizations are marked by creative beauty and aural adventurousness. From tuneful fairy tale engagement to the enigmatic and exquisite she explores an electronic sonic realm. Absorbing, then playing the world around us her synthesized energy gently winds its way through resonant and subtly shaded Ambient moods.

Sandy James teaches Music Technology at Temple University's Boyer College of Music & Dance. In her music she utilizes analog sound synthesis and has built a number of her own synthesizers and modules. Bypassing the conscious sensibilities, she aims for a direct connection with that which is elemental within the listener.

Danielle Nia delivers aural explorations in intimate, personal touch with the audience. Opening a rare space for peace, thought and warmth, her work is powerfully effective - and flows with the solemn, blissful insistence of life itself. Distinct and diverse, the music courses across an inclusive growth mindset and on into the Spacemusic realm.

This event will also present the work of video artist Samara Talkin, who will generate projections of original, ever-evolving graphics on the interior features of the St Luke sanctuary space - all in time with the live musical expressions.

MANNA + Sandy James + Danielle Nia on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 will begin at 7:00pm (doors 6:30pm) in the Chapel of St Luke UMC church, 568 Montgomery Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA (free off-street parking available).
